Final Exam

4)Transformative Photograph : This picture really changed the way I viewed photography, in the way that it made me realize how little we see at a first glance but as you look closer you can see millions of smaller details that make up a good photo. The picture at one glance is a gradient of light and color, going from blue to yellow to orange to black. Then as you look closer you start to see the silhouette of the structures like the dock and the city in the back, you notice the depth of the photo. This picture made me realize how important timing is so that each of these elements can be displayed properly so you take in the entire picture then start to see the smaller things and watch time lapse before your eyes in a still photo.

5)Shape vs Form : Shape is more of a two dimensional identifier for the way that something looks, how it's edges curve or sharply turn, and form is descriptive of a three dimensional shape. Form is how an object that is not flat is built, its structure and the way it looks. They are the difference between an object that is two dimensional and three dimensional.
6)Pattern vs. Repetition: In pattern there is repetition but it can be multiple non repetitive elements coming together to create a single piece. Repetition is the same form, shape,or structure showing up multiple times.

8)Last 3 Projects:
1) Humans of My Life
2)Follow Me to...
3)First Commercial Shoot

My "Follow Me To..." project was my best project. The project was my best edited set of photos and the best lit. I also managed to include multiple background elements without taking away from the model in the photo. The project taught me how to angle the camera to get the best focus and balance between background and faceless model, it also taught me how to use light better to my advantage and scenery as well as how much time it takes to do location shoots especially ones in which you have to change location multiple times in one day. And I learned how to see models differently as well as the photographer's role in making sure the model is placed correctly and posed so the picture will turn out the best it can.

Humans of My Life Final Photo Project

Aarti Panda: "I have a super special talent for earthquakes, I can detect earthquakes that are under the normal human threshold but nobody ever believes me, But shout out to usgs.gov for always having a map of all the earthquakes so I can prove all the haters wrong. I'm always right. Always."

Kaitlyn Shih: "I joined yearbook junior year and it taught me a lot about photography, design, and layouts."

Mansi Chopra:
"I started dancing when I was 3 and I've been dancing ever since."
"What kind of dance do you do?"
"Jazz,ballet,urban,Bollywood,contemporary"

Rudrik Suthar:" one time when I was younger, I was eating a snack and being a good little boy and a monkey came up and grabbed my food out of my hand"

Sonam Bhuptani:" When I was younger I used to dress up and run around my house pretending I was all kinds of imaginary things. It was my favorite thing to do as a child and it still is that's why I'm in drama now. I love being able to change my identity with a costume change and some mannerisms"

Student Website Review

Period 1: Sharon Hsu: Best Photo
It's slightly blurred around the edges so your gaze focuses more on the center of the picture where the city lights are not as concentrated but the building shapes are more interesting.
Period 2: Estell Kim : Best Photo
Though the two girls are the focus, it shows a bigger picture and gives a size contrast between the girls and the trees. There's a lot going on in the picture, as you continue to study it, you find the different light patterns, other trees in the background and the expressions of the girls.
Period 3: Jason Stiltz: Best Photo
It at first seems like a very simple picture but it shows depth, there's a light shining through the center of the shed and it came through very well. The sky and the hills in the very back create a light gradient that adds to the overall picture.
Period 4: Kaitlyn Shih: Best Photo
This picture showed a lot of small details you might otherwise overlook. The imperfections are what make it a perfect photograph, there are small dirt particles on the person's fingers and you can see the lines on their hands while being able to see the details of the plant and the dirt and all the minerals and sticks that are in it.
